Prioritising inpatient ACP using SPICT

Kat Boothroyd and colleagues from Bishop Auckland Hospital in the north of England showed again that SPICT is a predictor of mortality in patients with frailty during unplanned admissions to hospital of ≥ 72 hours duration. Used alongside the Clinical Frailty Score for all patients admitted to a Complex Frailty Unit for older people, many more patients are being identified for inpatient ACP conversations before discharge.
